26th Annual Korman Open House 2/2/08

Who's going, figured I'd make a thread and find out who all will be there so we can meet up.

I should be there, probably in Jay's car (if I can convince him to go) as mine is in no shape to drive on the highway more than two exits. :)

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

001 and 002 were both there. 002 wrecked behind the building. And 001 was incorrectly restored. But it made for a nice spectacle to show how Korman hasn't moved on.

        So true!

In the eighties, I had my e21 there when they were still in their old location. The waiting area was right outside of Rays office. My then girlfriend (now wife) and I sat there and could hear Ray on the phone talking about his race in the new M3 in the Firehawk series (I think it was.)

He must have had 50 phone conversations because we were there all day and on the ride home, we could recite the lengthy story word for word.

I remember the Roundel featuring Ray as Mr. BMW on their cover.

Back in the day, "Korman" work added significant value to your car.

I spoke to him at length about this a few years ago and he explained that he just couldn't get any decent employees anymore.

        Sad.

Actually that's a lie. He has plenty of good employees, except he's old, stingy, and senile. He hasn't invested into the business over the years, and he created environment for employees that allows them to slack.

As a former employee I would know.

He has same mechanics that he raced with, except as automitive industry progressed, Korman stayed the same. Sad but true. I wouldn't be surprised if Korman went down under in the next few years anyway.

            wow.....

idk where to start. There is a good reason your dumb ass doesn't work there anymore. First you don't know anything about cars. You've riced out your "hot" eta w/ fake hood scoops and the works. And I love how you think the m50 is a waste of time and your stock eta is faster. I'm really not sure why you worked there in the first place, you can barely speak english and were a huge eye sore to the customers.

Please stop wasting our precious air, not to mention the bandwidth..

                A. Everyone knew about my grandfather a LONG time ago
                B. Most of the stuff on my car is Korman. Pretty much the only thing that isn't is the Treehouse CAB's.

fact of the matter is, you are the joke of the company now. Everytime I go there, it seems like they make fun of your lazy ass. You were a disgrace to the company plain and simple. You are lucky you lasted as long as you did, b/c none of them like you

                    A. Every one knew of your grand father a long time ago. As a matter of fact at one point Korman had monopoly on Firehawk M3's, no one else built them. Since all the businesse that used to shop with Korman, now sell to Korman. Industry has moved on.

                    B. You have many parts that came through Korman, like winning twice in a row at open House lottery (shame on grand-dada), like him braking 2 H&R spring kits to make 1 set for you. Some came from World-pac, for which your grand-papa charged you 15% mark-up and sales tax, and you went to Crown to pick-up parts to avoid paying mark-up. And don't forget all the time you spent driving around looking for parts and browsing this forum page.

                    C. Don't forget the nice things I've done for you, just because your granddad and I had a fall out. Some parts in your swap were sourced out of my stash, so be nice. Charlie, you can say all the mean shit in the world, but I was good to Korman, and turned nearly 20 RO's per week, which is how many they had in the month since I left. Get your facts straight. He is your family, and I understand, but he is my ex-boss, so you'll have to undestand too.

                    D. Hope there's no bad blood between the two of us, but if you want to be an ass, shoot.

                      goodness...

I was saying everyone knew about my grandfather, as in the forum. They found out like a month after I joined.

And just cause you had a fallout w/ Korman doesn't mean you can shit talk my family. If you man up and quit bein a bitch then there isn't gonna be "bad blood" btw us. Lets call it your get out of jail free card.

and I won 2 years in a row fair and square. If he wanted to give me free parts, etc, he wouldn't need to have an open house and rig it.

You don't know anything about the bill from my swap for one. Two, I would rather pay for parts even if they aren't full price. Giving me free stuff all the time would make me a spoiled little kiddie.

Sounds like your the one who's being an ass. Now your just talking about shit to be petty. I wasnt going to say anything because Charlie can handle himself but you hinting that Ray rigged the open-house is pretty pathetic on your part. I dont know why you dont work there anymore but you bad mouthing them is bad form and shows no class.

Charlie, you didn't pay for the swap, I saw the invoices. You are spoiled, and if you did pay for any work done. Winning fair and square is cute, talk to Eddie about how many people won what after what events. I love coincidences too. Your grand father is very smart, I'll give him that, but he lost control of Korman Autoworks. You are not driving on Korman suspension, you got H&R springs, Bilstein shocks, adjustable sway bar links (that you modified yourself), brackets that Dan welded on for you free of charge. You need to drop subject of spoiled kiddie. Your counter argument can only be that you work hard when you're the visiting, and I'll give you that. but Ray paid you for that too. Anyhow Charlie, drop the subject of Korman, I know way more about what's happening within those walls than you do. if you care to find out, I would love to in person to tell you everything, because spilling it all on the forum would hurt you, Korman, and my current job.

Apex, I have nothing against Charlie, nor Korman, I am thankful for opportunity they have given me. And there are many reasons I do not work there anymore, and it is personal, because out of many places I worked at, Korman was by far the best. I can say a whole lots of nice things about that place, and I am not bitter at all. Charlie is just over reacting over his grand-fathers comments.

If you had acted like this at first I'm sure Charlie would not have been nearly as pissed.
Ray is old, and he lives in his own little world, probably because of said age, but you seem very bitter when you call him senile. You come off as pretty dumb, and you might be, but I dont go around telling people your mentally retarded. Your defensive now because you got caught acting like a bitch. Its pretty funny that your trying to back down now and talking about how much you liked the place, all the while pouting about how Charlie "overreacted".
