    Trans anyone?

    Anyone have a g260 trans sitting around, or know where one is? Mine has almost 500k on it, leaks, has a bad input shaft bearing, and has a broken tab on the mounting side. So I dont want to bolt it to my built s50 for long. I should probably get a small diameter output shaft so I can use the late model driveshafts.

    I am also looking for a driveshaft to replace my original spaghetti shaft..

      g260 the one for the m20?

      if so there is one at the harry's u pull it in pensburg. At least there was one last week, in a black 4 door. I have actually driven the car cause a friend was gonna buy it about 6 months ago. Shifts fine, the car was hit in the front and side.

      if you want i can check if its still there on wednesday.

        My trans is the original for my car. 8) too bad the m20 isnt still in front of it. I am actually hoping to find something out of a car first then I'll consider pulling something.

          I've had some good luck with this guy:

          His prices are usually pretty reasonable. If you don't want to pull one yourself from a junker this may be a good alternative.

            Yea I know chris pretty well, he comes to the dealership often. I'll ask him, but lately he's been hoarding trannys for 5 speed swaps. Can't blame him, theres more money in that than parting it all out.

              cr's huh... can't say i have had the best of luck with them... guess i should have taken a better look at my ETA when buying it from them...

                interested in a getrag 6 speed e46m3 tranny that'll mate up nicely on that s50?
                comes with an e36m3 auto driveshaft w/c i heard works on an e30/6 speed swap:-)

                anyway,i'll check around my local pick and pull as i think i saw a couple of e30's w/ 5 speeds in them-they sell them for like 75 bucks.

                BTW: Chris is a very stand up guy-very cool to deal with.

                  Of course I'm interested in a 6 speed but my checkbook would beg to differ. Got to recoup from this motor build, its been fun though.

                    You aren't the only one Jon. I've been eyeing 6spds too, but I need at least the price of one just to get my engine done and in the car.

                      What do you have left? I am assembling mine this weekend. Ended up with maxsil 10.5:1 +1.0mm pistons. Overbored and cleaned block (painted my crazy color of choice). Polished my crank journals, got all my bearings and seals, finished my cylinder head last weekend. I'm getting anxious. 3.5" maf, 24lb injectors and some other goodies will be next.

                        Sounds like fun!!

                        The only thing I have done is the oil pan, and that isn't even mounted yet as I need to replace the rear main first, and it's on an engine stand that makes it difficult to replace said seal. The big thing to get it ready is new lifters (old ones were said to be tapping), then I can assemble the top end. I need an alternator (didn't come with one), radiator (want aluminum), exhaust, clutch, brake booster, wiring, determining what to do about ews, hoses, mounts, and determining what to do for a trans. All the big things basically.
