    MKE: Great Lakes Dragaway April 2nd & 3rd opening weekend drags

    I have never drag raced before and I would like to give the e30 a run just out of curiosity to see what it can do. For some reason I am thinking that it will be something pretty shoddy along the lines of a 16.5.

    Yeah yeah yeah your brothers friends neighbor has a WRX that runs 11's and your uncle is shaving his mullet to see if his El Camino can break into the 10's. I don't care. It's all just for fun and experience. It is free so why not? It should also be fun to find out whether my 186k mile automatic trans will survive a few hard gear changes. If it doesn't , then I will just have an excuse to do my manual swap.

    I know this is a bit more than a month and a half away but these regional forums dont move fast enough for it to drop off the page too quickly.
    Is anyone else planning on going for the sake of watching or even racing? anyone wanna go up against me ? :P

    I anticipate going on Friday night, the 2nd but if a group from the forums here wants to do saturday then I'll do that.

    If I had money for it I would most def go up with you, and against you.

    Few years ago when i bought a 85 300zx, i took it there for a few runs at low 16s. Fun as hell, even funnier racing against build corvettes with auto trans.

        It would be awesome to run against another 3-series or some sort of competitive car and not just some 1000hp supra that will make me look ridiculous :p

            Well you have those nice short gears + a manual trans, and I will just be stomping the throttle from idle due to having a slushbox (not gonna neutral bomb it :P). I bet you could beat me if you got a good launch.

            I wish I didn't have to spend my tax returns on tuition, im getting really anxious to do the manual swap.
