Hey Chicagoarea R3V members. Would anyone in the area be willing to help me change my timing belt within the next month or so? I'm off work on Sunday's. Obviously food, beer, and some cash would be provided for your help! Let me know! Thanks.

Ill be doing my timing belt in the next month or so too. Ill let you know when I'm starting on mine a day prior maybe and maybe it will work out. Have yourself the parts yet? I recommend Bimmerheads for the belt, pump and tensioner. It would also be useful to read over the timing belt procedure if you have not already so you know what to expect. Will you be bringing your own tools? I hope so at least in terms of the common ones but i have a 32mm wrench that you'll need.

Yes I will have all the tools except the wrench needed for the fan clutch. I will be ordering the parts soon. I was actually looking at ordering this kit. What do you think? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...-325ic-e30kit1

I have worked on e30s before and I actually changed my water pump only last year so I have a pretty good idea of what to do. (I know, should have done the timing belt at that time). Just want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

I've never heard of that brand of timing belt so it might be slightly risky but it wouldn't stop me from buying it. I like that the whole kit is complete in one package and the price is right. Even if i didn't use every part, i wouldn't, is still a good deal.

        I'm getting mine from Bimmerheads

I have the clutch fan tool, and can swing by to give you a hand. It will have to be on a Sat. M-F are usually swamped for me. PM me your number
