I am trying to gather some support for a spring cruise in the Chicago land area. I am a member of the Windy City BMW Club and for the most part been very happy with the events they have put together. I only have one problem with those events and that is they are not really convertible friendly. I recently bought a 91' 325ic and quickly realized that the events are either AutoX or Track days neither of which are really suited towards convertibles.
I have a potential course drawn up with the possibility of breakfast and or lunch at a very nostalgic roadside restaurant. The course is about 120 miles of scenic winding roadside running up one side of the Kankakee River and down the other side starting in Wilmington IL and ending in Braidwood IL. I would want to run this event sometime in late April to mid May. Of course this event would not be limited to just convertibles and also involve other models as well. I would love for this to be just a BMW or Mini event but will be most likely extending this out to the Illinois Euro board as well.
Please if this sound like something you would be interested in let me know. Also I am very open to suggestions as well
