there are many awesome places 'round these parts!

for eats, there is this awesome Vietnamese restaurant called Young's in Fort Collins, CO, they have the best sesame chicken i have ever had, there is a good Greek place called Athena or something, and there is a whole bunch of other placed i can't think of at the moment.

A sweet hangout would be Estes Park, CO. Its up in the mountains at like 8,000 feet or so and there is some wicked scenery.

And if you are scared of heights and you want a serious thrill go into Rocky Mountain National Park right outside Estes Park, where you drive on this insanely twisty and stomach-turning road up the mountains to about 12,000 feet where there is only tundra.

Its a crazy road because most of the time there is about a several thousand foot drop off along the edge of the road. And by edge i mean you have the white line on the pavement, another three inches of pavement after that, and then nothing but air.

great E30 photoshoot spots. Actually if you go back to pg 3 to the pics, the last pic of the Z4 was taken at around 12,000 feet in Rocky Mts Nat'l Park.

So needless to say my face was all scratched up and bloody and really cool looking.

      what does "303//720//970 people" mean?
Everyone eats shit at first. Over and over and over and over again. After your first couple times, or first season, depending how fast you pick it up, you won't crash as much and will only improve.... I can't remember the last time I ate it from just boarding... I do go down doing stupid things that I know will end with me eating shit though. 303, 720, 970 are the local area codes.

Hmmmmmmm, there's a bit of touristy stuff around here thats fun to do. I don't really know what to tell ya. Gotta check out Boulder, maybe drive up the canyon since you'll have a Porsche. Check out Colorado Springs or Estes Park. Another canyon going to Estes. Check out Fort Collins. I don't really know where to send you specifically, but I'm not thinking too hard right now.

PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

It's really sad that I take all this for granted since I grew up here. It is great and I love going up there, but I don't really get bothered by the heights or anything lol.

for me it is totally insane. I grew up on the east coast where it is totally flat and there are so many trees that there is rarely ever a decent view of any sort of scenery at all. One of the craziest things about CO to me is the fact that you can just look around and see so dang far, you can watch rainstorms in the distance, look over entire cities, and let your eyes explore the mountain range. Can't have none of that in Maryland. And the massive scale of the mountains when you are in them is just awesome for someone who comes from the land of lawns, deciduous trees and Wal Marts.

by the way here is a vid my friend took as we were driving in the Rocky Mtn park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQxiHAQxl20

lol, no problem. Nice vid. Those kinds of roads remind me a LOT of when I had my Jeep and would spend my weekends four-wheeling.

Congrats on arriving in the best state!

All the cool kids ski, don't you know? I tried boarding once, never again. I enjoy skiing much too much.

Boulder's an awesome town, I grew up there. Most people rag on it due to the rather blatant liberal viewpoints there, but it is the best town by far I have ever lived in (including Munich and San Fran). The people are fine, just like any other town, and there are wackos, just like any other town.

52 days till I'm finally back home! If you liked Estes, there are maaaany roads as stupefyingly impressive. A personal favorite of mine is I70 up past Vail pass. The altitude change, ecological change, environment change, weather, and scenery is just amazing. The road's not challenging at all, but you sure do feel the altitude difference driving from 5300 at Boulder to 11000 at the Tunnel (2 mi tunnel). There are also lots of proper canyons to drive that aren't nearly as crowded as Estes.

@iamcreepingdeath- I know what you mean about the Colorado scenery and how it takes getting used to. I'm doing the opposite. Since I've been in Munich, sans mountains, sans elevation, sans...trees...it just doesn't feel right or at home. I get the same feeling in Florida too. Too flat, no mountains, no canyons, no Colorado.

Hahaa. I'm pretty much moderate/libertarian, and I love boulder. It's wicked fun to drive my smoking straight piped E30 next to Priuses on the way to shoot trap. People only get in your face about politics if you invite it; most people would rather talk about something else. Boulder = awesome.

...yes, I'm biased, me no care hahahaha

awesome vid too, btw. When it opens up again, or if it is now, go drive Pikes Peak or Mt. Evans. You can drive right to the top of them, and both are in the exclusive 14er club (mountains >14,000ft. Colorado has 54? of them, Cali has 3, no other state has any in the 48 has any) You will hear "did a 14er" a loooooot around here.
