    I need a crash course in Physics II NOW!!

    Dudes,

    I have a job opportunity at an electronics company in Fort Collins, and I have to take an entrance exam to get in for an interview, and I took a look at the exam, its 40 questions, and its all circuits, resistors, voltages, current, etc. i.e. all Physics II stuff!!

    Of course it just so happens that I last took Physics II about 6 years ago at the University of Minnesota, and I didn't do any homework and I never went to class. BAD MISTAKE!! DON'T EVER DO WHAT I DID!!!!!!!

    So I need someone to borrow me their Physics II book and/or learn me some electrical circuits!!!!

    Thanks dudes.

      well most of the test was pretty much pictures of circuits with resistors, capacitors and switches and stuff and I had to find the Vo and the I and stuff for the circuits. Know what I mean?

              lol, don't really know how I can help you from CT. But you need to study up on basic series and parallel stuff (resistor and capacitor combination), kirchoff's laws (1st - Junction rule, 2nd - Loop rule).

              By what you are saying, sounds like all of those will be the most important.
              Also; of course the basic ohms law and a few other things:

              Ohm's:
              V=IR

              Power:
              P= (I^2)R = (V^2)/R

              Also, dont forget R= p(L/A)
              where p= resistivity (different for given materials)
              L= Length of given section of wire
              A= cross sectional area of wire

                  You can find everything online, just search for these topics:

                  Kirchoff's Current Law
                  Kirchoff's Voltage Law
                  Superposition
                  Source Transformation
                  Thavenin's and Norton's Theorems

                  That should be enough for DC circuits.

                    I have an online account for my physics class, we use the same book for physics 1-3 and the whole book is online. PM me if you want to use it

                        Sam, is any of it on RC/RL/RLC circuits? Those are a bitch.

                        I have some books that might help you out but you'd have a massive amount of cramming ahead of you if you start at page one. I have a Physics problem solving book/guide that gives pretty good strategies for solving things.

                        I'm good (but slow) at circuits but the whole E&M physics...not my strong point.

                        Where's the job at?

                          Not divulging that info at the moment!! ;)

                          Yeah i took a look at the test, it looked pretty simple, it was pretty much all circuit diagrams, and each question just asked for Vo, some asked for Io. Then there were some computer logic questions with the symbols for "and" and "or" and "nand" and "nor", and then some diode coloring questions. It is pretty much a gateway test to see if the applicant has a very basic electrical knowledge to weed out the nincompoops, then i would have to go interview from there.

                          I got a ton of material from some CU guys on cusportcar.com, so i will sift through that tomorrow.

                          But thanks so much guys!

                              not so much.... i studied alot, but i didn't even touch on AC circuits and transformers, which turned out to be on the test.... so i will re-take it in a month.

                              And thanks to everyone that helped with the materials!
