I was kinda thinking about those, it is just hard to find any info about them for track use as most are used for drifting. I know that the 240sx can be pretty good with wide tires and there are tons of suspension options. I just don't know how good, if that good is in relation to other Japanese cars or all cars in general. I would imagine they are decent and probably have decent relations with the r32 or r33 Skylines which are monsters on the track at the Tsukuba time attack races.

Yeah, I know I can't get all four, but I am looking for something that is a decent combination of those ideals. I am thinking an s13 would be nice. There is way too much aftermarket support suspension wise and they can fit decently wide tires under them.

I was thinking s13, if it is auto it will most likely be stock. I can't do the Miata, S2000? Hell yeah!

^I would drive that in a heart beat!

                Define reasonable price?

Great track cars that are japanese:
                Mazda Miata
                Honda S2000
                Honda Prelude
                Acura Integra
                Mazda RX7
                Mazda RX8
                Honda Civic
                Mitsubishi Evo
                Subaru Impreza/WRX
                Datsun 240z
                Nissan 240sx/S13/S14/S15

Not all of those are RWD, but they are all capable of being track monsters.

I hear they weigh like 2200 lbs and make 130 hp, and can be lightened to like 1500 lbs very easily, which gives you a great hp/lb ratio.
Aftermarket support is quickly dwindling for those.

And the price isn't anywhere close to reasonable for what you get.

Yup. It's an ancient car with incredibly wobbly chassis. Not something I'd try to get into, even if it is light weight. Chassis needs to be stiff.

Great track cars that are japanese:
Mazda Miata - would be very hard for me to drive this
                      Honda S2000 - too expensive
                      Honda Prelude - too ugly
Acura Integra - I like these but I don't really like fwd
Mazda RX7 - I like the FD, too expensive though
Mazda RX8 - too expensive and ugly
Honda Civic - again fwd, already had one and loved it to death, in fact my first car, I wouldn't mind an EG hatch
Mitsubishi Evo - too expensive and I already have awd
                      Subaru Impreza/WRX-see above
Datsun 240z - hard to find
Nissan 240sx/S13/S14/S15 - I think this is my best bet. Aftermarket support, cheap and easy to find. I like the looks.

The civic and integra are second and third on the list for being obtainable for me.

Have you driven a Miata though? They are amazing cars. Slow, but awesome.

Talk to Chris about the Integra, he just bought one.

My issue with the S13/14 is that too many of them have become drift toys. Find a nice clean one and rock the shit out of it though.

Other cars you should consider, since you haven't mentioned a budget:

                          early Porsche Boxster

You met me at the wings night right? 18y/o =/= Porsche. I will look into a Miata, to me they just would make me feel akward, I'm not a fan of Verts. I am not worried about overall speed.

I think the s13 really will be the ticket, they seem to be good on the track and I want to make one that isn't a drift car.
