I'm pretty sure that E36 is running front E30 M3 DTM suspension, not in the rear. the magnesium struts on the DTM cars are pretty badass and were used up until the E90 model I believe.

This pilot did exactly what the media is describing (I wonder if they just recycle stories?):
MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Capt. Christopher Stricklin ejects from the USAF Thunderbirds number six aircraft less than a second before it impacte...
Guided the F-16 away from the ground and ejected <1sec before crashing.

I thought that was the jackass pilot using the wrong altitude for mountain home AFB, and didn't climb high enough before rolling back over.
