You can also have a rider with you in stock rubber class.
    Wait wait wait.

    $25 for one lap only?

    Fuck that.

Pretty much. It is all a *maybe*. You *might* get in practice if you register fast enough. You *might* win and get more runs. They *might* set up free time after the event.

I still want to go and see what it is like. I am just not to thrilled about one lap only.

Just read the rules, not excited anymore. 1 guaranteed lap for $25, and you only get more if you win heats. Since this would be my first time in the car on an ice race, the probability of winning is super low.....so no go. If you have studless winter tires, you get bumped up into a higher class also. I'm not thrilled with the rule set.

Would be fun to watch though and to gauge how serious people are.

I didnt see that, where is it? Are you still put into the "stock" class that requires no helmet?

Rules, page 13 I think? You get bumped into the Pro Street that requires helmets.

                Stupid.

Sounds like they *could* keep you in the stock class with winters depending on type. I would hope that my Jeep with hankooks wouldn't get bumped up. Probably not worth waking up early for.

I got second at this event last year in a swapped Impreza. It's a lot of fun and they let you have a ton of time to mess around at the end of the day.

I would love to go do this in my ix!

On a side note, is there a difference in fenders, headlights etc in e36's?

Yup,sedans and coupes are different, dunno about compacts

Compacts are sedan a-pillar and roof, special fenders, some random doors, a suspension made from leftover parts in some dudes garage, and with no rear end. It is a confused little car.

                          My understanding of the Compact

sedan hood, fenders, a pillar, roof
                          random doors?
                          E30 rear suspension, E36 front
Rear end was backed into a wall at some point, likely on purpose to make it smaller.

They make great Rallye cars, especially with a 24v S-motor.

Also, for having two less cylinders and no VANOS, the hot side of the motor on them is quite tight.
