    Car Weight Scales

Since many of you are track-stars, wondering who has a set of digital car scales?
Or access to a set to begin some information recording on my R55 project?

I know SCR and BimmerHaus have them. I highly doubt that anyone on here has a set as they are like 2 grand.

Yes they do; checked with them on pricing and availability.

      Whoa, they're not that expensive.
I've found slightly used units for ~$700+.
      New are only $1000 - $1200.

Throwing the idea out there, would a group of owners be interested in pooling together for a set to use?

Or truck-stops; yeah, I've done that.

But I'm wanting to fully document the OEM specification of weight distribution and per corner before installing my coilovers.
Plus, I'm wanting to dial those in after installation; not just "set-height" and go.

There might- **MIGHT** be a set I can grab from the old FSAE shop.

I'll look into it. If there is, I see a scale and corner weighting partay in the near future!

Do you need to corner weight before or after an alignment? Cause my car may need another alignment and it probably would improve my car to get it corner weighed too.

You can't corner balance your car can you Sam?

i just go to the local scrap yard. They always have well calibrated new scales... I just throw the scale guy 10-20 bucks depending on his mood and how busy they are.

Like others said though. No corner weights

That's a double edged topic; but with FSAE practices comuing to mind, do it before.
Balance first (as you're changing ride height) and therefore geometry changes.
