Yup, first BMW that i've owned. Know the B5 A4 motor and car like the back of my hand, so being a euro lover, BMW/e30 seemed natural to get and could stalling the car right after starting damage the crank position sensor?

I'm getting new plugs/battery tomorrow. and i'll update either tomorrow night or saturday.

Buy a Bentley manual if you're planning on keeping the car for a while and working on it yourself. They're really reliable and dead nuts simple...

PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

This. The Bentley Manual and the 101 Projects For Your 3-Series books are super helpful.

EVERYONE- Wrench session on Saturday at my house? I'll be working on my car anyway, so if people want to come join, that's kewl. I haz air compressor, tons of jacks, and jackstands.

Bring your own hand tools though.

I'll be starting super early if I don't finish the thing Friday.

Already bought it on ebay :)

Bought a Z3 SS, new muffler to run a custom exhaust, cheap keyless entry and elipsoids. Waiting for my next paycheck to buy GC C/O's, get the exhaust made, and if money permits get the front seats reupholstered.

But bimmerman, anyway you can swing by my place on Saturday and help me out with me e30? or know anyone that can trailer it lol :) i can pay in beer.

                Nice list!

Doubtful I'd be able to. I don't have a trailer and my car's been on jackstands for four weeks.

I love the car, but everytime I see the tach rev up to 2.5 my body gets ready for that sudden kick from a turbo, which I don't have. definitely miss the a4 (had a bigger turbo setup) but now that theres an sr20det swap diy...i might do it >:) but thats after i get some money.

I'm the guy that loves the OEM+1 car. The getup and go, but for any non-car enthusiast, it just looks like a slightly modded OEM car with OEM "sport packages" >:)

as for wrenching, if I can get the car running, I'd love to head over to your place just to meet some e30 owners and possibly tuck my stupid diving boards.

I hear ya. I'm a huge Subaru nut, and am planning on swapping the flat six from the recent Legacy 3.0R into my 95 wagon and making a stupid fast DD wagon that sounds (and goes) like a Porsche GT3. Sleepers that look stock are just epic amounts of win. Flat six sound and 210awhp would be far better than my current NA 95 awhp....at sea level. 67awhp up here.

FWIW, I don't have an E30 anymore, I've got an E36 M3 track car. I sold the wrong car.....but such is life. Lemme know if you get the car running! I saw you're on the CUSCC forums also, what year/major are you?

As far as turbos go, Turbocharging Dynamics (TCD) sells an awesome kit for the M20s to get ~300whp on 14psi. These motors loooooove boost. Or swap it and put the motor from an E36 M3 into it, that's also a very common and awesome swap.

I've heard that the s50/m50 motors are ideal swaps for this vehicle. I havent really looked into everything yet as I've been swamped with midterms this week (made that ochem midterm today my bitch also the reason I missed wing night) but who know's, I really dont want to put TOO much money into the e30 ;) as I want it to be a dd.

I'm currently sourcing parts as money slowly comes around to do a B5 A4 Avant with a reiger wide body kit, 2.0L stroker, and an HTA3076r + w/m. that's my I WANT IT MEOW car lol.

and i'm currently a junior by credit/second year at CU, an Ebio major w/ premed track. One of the stereotypical asians in the academic department, but am a die hard euro lover, screw the honda's :p

but here's a quick pic of my OEM+1 look

Previous car. really hope that nothing is too major with this motor in the e30 as I just want a car to dd and look good while doing it.

Geeky - make sure to give the E30 a chance. Even if it is broken now, heh. They are great cars with a lot of potential. Not to mention cheap and easy!

Brad, if your stuff comes in you're more than welcome to journey up here to work on the car. My car blew another clutch slave cylinder and we had to drop the transmission another two times last night....I don't think my car WANTS to be fixed.

#4. Each failure was due to a completely different issue. #4 is in and holding pressure, so we think we did it right this time.

Dont you guys worry, definitely sticking around for a while. Always wanted an e30, just need to get it up and running so I can paint it and install all me parts.

btw for the suspension I've been reading A LOT of things but everyone covers the fronts EXTENSIVELY but nothing about the rears. I know th rear setup is a semi-trailing setup so how would I go about doing the GC's? im more worried about having the coilover stay on the subframe than anything else.
