    Where to get exhaust done?

So I'm looking at getting a custom exhaust done soon. I just want a 2.5" all the way back (y-pipe right after the stock headers) then straight back into a muffler.

I'm trying to keep th price very low but a couple places I've called around here wants $400+ to get that done which I think is complete bull shit as I had a 2.5" turbo back made back in Seattle for $250 after tax for my B5 A4, a full 2.5" Mandrel Bent exhaust (and inflation in Seattle is MUCH worse than boulder) so who have you guys used for exhausts here or can any one weld here/willing to make me an exhaust for some cash

Yeah awesome customer service, but they want $200 for just a catback with a y-pipe right after the cat and I supply my own muffler which is really overpriced in my opinion.

Ken's classic in Longmont quoted me $140 for just a catback I supply the muffler.

It's not exactly the same, but I have a gutted cat section for an E30 and a slightly louder than stock catback due to strategic rust holes....$50.

well I already ordered a new muffler with turn up tips as I love how those look on an e30 (personal preference) with a 2.5" inlet and dual tip outlet so I need to get the catback welded up either way/made to incorporate that muffler

but off of what e30? I know that the 325i/is run a dual pipe all the way back, hence the need for a y-pipe to be made and placed in.

DAMN. My car is in Salt Lake and I am being quoted:
from the flanges of cast manifold (S52): mandrel bends, to flowmaster y pipe, to mandrel, to cat I provided, to 2.5 straight single all the way to their magnaflow muffler with their custom tip: $730!!!!!!

I am finally going to pull the plug on that shop; funny though, I called another shop and verbatim'd the guts and they said $650 and that was a referral?

                  wtf??!!

Have you no appreciation for people that actually make exhausts for a living? They charge that much because it is labor intensive and materials are not cheap.

and it's not a fun job either, craning your neck to get a good fitment.

All you guys harassed me wondering why I didn't buy up my own equipment and make exhausts and shit lol.... People will continuously bitch about price and shit and expect top quality, it's the same exact fucking deal with detailing....

NO, You're not going to get a showroom quality look for $100, fuck off.

                          ..... /rant

Call Boulder Muffler and join the CUSCC, they get a discount last I checked.

Though, for $730.... I'd love to see the quality or end result, that sounds labor intensive and depends on what materials and process they use..... If it were worth it, I'd tig me a stainless exhaust, headers to ass end.

PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

me and a buddy are gonna slap together an exhaust for my E30, shouldn't cost much over $100 in materials.

I'm going to get a Magnaflow muffler, a cheapo resonator, some piping and a few connector flanges. The trick is to get it to sound halfway decent.

You gonna do cat? The mandrel pieces from manifold and the Y pipe are the expensive parts. Plus your tip.
