I'd be down for a drive / photoshoot in the next few weeks. I've been waiting to repaint my trim, fix my lights, and get my bike rack on before I do a proper photoshoot with the E30, but I should be able to get that done soon.

HPR is doing $1 track days the week after Christmas, but I work of course.

You have to be a BMW CCA Member. That's reason enough to join if you're not.

          Folks,

There is good news for club members who are interested in some track time between Christmas and New Year.

Earlier this week PPIR announced dollar days. Yes, one dollar for one track day. I spoke to Paul Jensen (PPIR manager) today. There will only be 6 cars on track at any one time. Requirements are, experience of at least one driving school, or a competition racing license. I can most likely obtain special permission for a first time student to drive on track as long as there is a recognized instructor in the car 100 percent of the time.

A few minutes ago I received an email from CAMA, i.e. High Plains Raceway. There will be two free days between Christmas and New Year. They will select the best two days based on the weather forecast closer to the time. Here the requirements are :-
          A CAMA member, or
A paying customer sometime during 2010.
As BMW is back in MCCA, and MCCA is a CAMA member, it means that any current, paid up, member of the BMW club can participate in the event. Great !

Winter hours are shorter than the summer track hours, but you still get to have plenty of fun. I can forward the two relevant emails from the two race tracks to any club member who is interested and not on the track email lists.

I have a set of floating motorsport M Coupe rotors and Hawk pads just waiting to be bedded, but I'll have to wait until next year when I have the time off and some extra cash.

it would be sacrilegious for me to pass up a track day that only costs $1 admissions. I must find some tires for my Koseis.

^ are you a BMW club member tho? If no, that's then a $41 track day. Which is still damn good.

If I didn't really need the hours at work / had brakes / could afford to replace brakes and mount tires......

Also, Sam, that's PPIR with the $1 track day. Not HPR.
