    I don't think so.

Fuel economy is based on displacement, bsfc, rolling resistance/friction/driveline losses, and aerodynamic drag. Physics are against you on this one.

      Yeah, it's an uphill battle.

However, sequential injection + ford EDIS ignition did give me +5mpg in the city on one of my old volvo 240s... didn't get much in terms of highway, but when the engine is just idling away at a stop light, sequential really helps.

My M3 tends to get 30-35mpg on the highway depending how much I romp on it....

I'd rock the hell out of an Integra or Mini though.

Commuting to Uptown Denver means I spend a good 10 minutes of my commute sitting at stoplights. The M3 isn't so fun city driving. 22~24 if I'm going easy. 19 if I'm having fun.

Integras are nice.... if you don't have to park where I do.

Both are valid points, Integras tend to get stolen and M3s are too fun to DD in the city with any kind of good mpg.

I'd drive a prius long before I'd ever get behind the wheel of one of those hideous things.

Only problem I'd have with that would be the fact that it's made by VW, but it's under consideration.

Go look up what it costs to get the SMG pump (which is guaranteed to fail) changed.

CRXs get great mileage, I hear they can reach 50 mpg if driven correctly. I did a little research on this a while back. They are a bit slow, but very small and light.

and as far as cool, what kind of mileage does a Mk1 Rabbit turbo diesel get? I hear it's decent.

In other news, my E28 apparently gets 30 mpg going to and from work. That's right.

Can't turn off stability control with the 6 speed ones. No thanks.

still brings around the VW problem.

So does my $50 dollar volvo (actually it's technically free now).
