Guys what a day. I just finished the marathon which puts me at 22 hours since my head touched a pillow. It'll be good training for 24 hours of Lemons if that happens!
It was a blast today. I almost bagged it because of the rain in the morning, but I'm so glad you guys talked me into going. HPR is a way more technical track than pueblo (the only other track I've driven on). It took about 3 sessions before I put it all together, with Ben's help - he's a natural instructor. We got 6 sessions in, which was a ton.
I really dug the open format although the knuckle heads in the Jettas, prelude, and big ass diesel truck made for an interesting spectacle as long as you stayed the hell away from them.
I have a ton of pics and good footage of Ben and maybe Brad if the battery lasted that long. I'll try to get something up tomorrow night. Off to get the most of my 9 hour rest!JOY IS AN E30...

Ya, I've been on here for a little bit! Unfortunately those are pretty much all the pics I got. I'm kinda kicking myself for not taking more, but I was just way too distracted by all the impressive cars. Really should have gotten some of that carbon fiber d sports thing, and you guys driving. That was my first time out there, and I guess while I was taking it all in, I completely forgot to snap better shots. Next time! If I can get my e30 sold, I'll be able to buy my friends 91 with an s52 and my other buddys 88 m3 should be back together in a month or so. My friend with the vortech s2000 with the gold roll bar that was there would most likely join us as well.

How do you like the D7000? Both my friend and I are thinking of it or a D90 for replacement bodies.
I can't say enough good things about the D7000. I started with a D40, was going to upgrade to the D80. Then I decided to wait for the D90, then I waited more and settled on the D7000. I love the metering and AF system. 3D tracking is pretty smart. Magnesium body is nice. I haven't touched the movie stuff yet as it doesn't really interest me. The images are so sharp. I haven't even tried it with my prime lens yet. It honestly is a steal at $1200 imo if you don't plan on going FX.

Is the $450 over the D90 worth it? Argh, I start looking into replacement bodies for like a week, then get so frustrated I quit! haha. My D50 didn't survive this last stint to trashcanistan, but I figure two wars, 9 countries and a infant later; it served nobly.
High ISO is fantastic on the D7000.
I love to crop my pictures as I tend to bring my 35mm lens around most places. I can't always get closer to my subject so I need/want to crop. D7k has a lot more MP so it helps with that a bit.
Dual SD slots.
The metering system is much better on the D7K. This was the primary reason for me to upgrade from the D40 with it's poor and messed up metering.
The AF system wasn't originally a selling point for me but the more I play around with it the more I am glad I have it.
