Yeah, for rock crawling or anything involving big torsion loads on the body you would want welded seams and frame bracing. But for high speed it holds up fine as is.
Don't forget to post Sam's valence-adjustment in that section. And judging from that awesome vantage point and your camera work, some of my Jeep vids should be epic... standing by!

I was playing with some effects on video since the guy driving this car asked to see the video. I still haven't gotten to the e30 vids yet (sorry sam). This only took about 20 minutes...

Class 3-4 is just fine with a lifted Jeep with no reinforcements. I guess if they are doing higher grade rock crawling with major articulation you might want to reinforce stuff, but either way the ability for a stock XJ to offroad is incredible. Expecially for the price of them.Leave a comment:

I have heard from some buddies back in MD that the frame rails can crack fairly easily and that they should be boxed before undertaking any serious off-roading.Leave a comment:

From the hours I've spent underneath looking at the suspension wondering what will break, I'd say the weak points are where the control arms attach to the unibody, just like any time anything mounts to any unibody (full frames FTW). But I've beat the living daylights out of it constantly for years with no big issues.Leave a comment:

The front upper and lower CA mounts will need to be replaced (40$ for an entire control arm) at some point and ball joints can get clunky like any car overtime. But there is no obvious weak FRAME points like E30s where the rear shock mounts suck, sway bars tear out, E36 front strut mounts, etc.Leave a comment:
