David, couldn't hurt to replace the filter, if I remember right the thing looks like hell. Replace your plugs, all of $10 if that, and maybe think about the rest of the ignition system. OBD 1 chip shouldn't be changing at all, just "learning" the car after reconnecting the battery, which would happen right away...

Car sat while I was fiddling with transmission and roll bar for around a month, could the chip have cleared itself/changed tables and such? Battery was disconnected (windows reset themselves and wouldn't auto-up).

I made some recommendations in a thread on M3F, no idea if David's tried them yet.
