okay s52 swapped as many know. It was done in MA, when I came up to CO it seemed that there was a power reduction or it is running a little bit rich. Anyone know why this could have happened? I thought the ECU's account for this type of thing and adapt to the current environment. Is the MAF bad? really struggles at altitudes above 8000ft so driving to ski can be a nightmare when i'm being passed by shitty Corollas, anybody have some insight for me? no current check engine lights.
who can give me insight on my troubled car

You do have over 20% loss in power at that elevation. How slow are we talking?okay s52 swapped as many know. It's the altitude dude. Totally normal. When I went to sea level, my car screamed. Came back up here and wanted to kill myself. Welcome to the mile-high city.okay s52 swapped as many know. I seriously mean civics and corollas are out performing me bad.You do have over 20% loss in power at that elevation. How slow are we talking?
wouldnt mind trying this if someone had one I could quickly swap in…try another S52 ECU. Seriously, that could do it. I have heard of cars that just never adjust to altitude, and I heard it from an experienced mechanic buddy that works at Bolder (sic) Auto in Boulder.
I have previous codes but no current CEL. They were all gathered during bad weather but they consist of, MAF, O2, CPS, and Low voltage codes through my ecu, I'm trying to hook it up on tuesday.getting any codes?
Thats what happened to me, I got a taste of the fast as fuck feeling and I want it back without having to move back. wasn't sure if its a comp problem though not adjusting properly to elevation because I have driven other cars that adapted quite fine and still took off pretty strong (what would seem to me as normal for MA)It's the altitude dude. I would love to try it, and you can try mine out and see how it feels to you as well.i'm in boulder w/ an s50e30 if you want to compare how it drives to see if its majorly off or just the altitude
and thank you everyone for the quick responses

why will my car get murdered? never heard ofTry driving up Mt. Evans or Pike's Peak sometime...
I hope it didn't get damaged but after some time I replaced my battery with a newish one, old one turned out to have a dead cell. Is this what would replace it or should I get a better alternator/pulley? Or a gel battery?low voltage code to ECU will cause bad things. usually not enough voltage to drive some of the sensors right.
That's a high priority fix right there.
