Either way, you're screwed.... but I'd take 80 too lol. Except the Glenwood Springs Canyon/Hanging Lake part of I70 is pretty sweet.

          I propose

That we start by coming up with some potential candidates, and after some candidates are decided on, THEN we start a SEPARATE thread where we vote, and you CAN'T vote for yourself, by the way. Also, don't nominate yourself, either, sorry, Colo Cabrio... ;)

Also, I have already been talking w/ Jparkr about this and they are mulling out some mod-related solutions to this subforum currently.

Also, post count shouldn't be a HUGE issue, but I suspect it will be a pretty significant factor if a mod/site owner were to make someone moderator. They probably won't give the powers to someone they don't know personally, especially if they have a recent join date and few posts. jus sayin. One of the admins will probably want to do a little post research on a candidate before bestowing powers upon that person.

That's right, guys, start posting and cleaning up past posts!! ha ha!

But then if I don't participate and we end up with a pointless moderator, then you all will say "well, you should have participated if you wanted a say in the matter."

The status quo here works, stop trying to break it.

We don't need a moderator to babysit us.

You won't have to if this silliness comes to fruition.

Roland, you dont think there is a need for a mod. You are entitled to your opinion, even if others disagree. Those of us who want a mod are equally entitled to our opinion.

You want a shitshow, you just don't know it yet.

The OT banter is what makes R3v what it is, and is why its a decent forum. Yes, it can get a bit excessive at times, but we don't need a moderator to control our discussion. When was the last time you were having a conversation with someone and had someone else step in and say OH NO, YOU CAN'T TALK ABOUT THAT!!! THAT'S OFF TOPIC!!! probably never, and for a damn good reason too.

You'll leave just because one of the mountain folk get mod status? You're so convinced that the mod will use their powers for ill, and all the time, with no evidence to back up the concern. The point of having a mod, which many of us do want, is for when shit gets out of hand. Not for the daily shenanigans that happen here.

No, I'll leave because I enjoy this place because it's an unregulated forum that's enjoyable to visit. Even at it's shittiest, it's a good place to be, because everything works out without somebody locking everything down.
