    New to the forum, Hello

Hey guys, I just thought I would cut all the craigslist bull and see if any of you would be interested in our 89' 325ix, we are going to be selling it soon basicly due to the lack of time I have to work on it and play with it. Its alpine white, auto, 4 door, around 210k on it, I also have an almost complete drivetrain for it. If there is any interest in it please pm me and I will post pics if there is interest. Please note that it will be for sale soon, not right now, I want to get our new car ready for the road first so we will be using as a daily until then, thank you.:)

We would really like to see this car go someone that will love it like we have, and keep it on the road.

You say that you have an almost complete drivetrain. Does this mean that the car does not currently run or do you have nearly an entire backup drivetrain?

Sorry guys, just seemed there was no interest in the car, I will take pictures tomorrow to post up, as far as the drivetrain question I wasn't joking I have alot of spare parts, ie. transmission with tq converter, drive shaft, front diff, oil pan, calipers, radiator, fan shroud, ix specific heat shield, steering rack, one or maybe 2 front control arms with good ball-joints (maybe only one), dme, and alot more, just can't remember all of it right now. I don't know the price, its my girlfriends car, I just work on it so I don't know what she would like to get for it, what do they typically go for? It is a daily driver, she drives it everyday to work, very reliable car thus far. As far as location we are in Aurora, any other questions I will be happy to answer and will try to post pics tomorrow.

I think the amount of interest in this car will solely depend on the price.

Also, the auto brings down the value for most of us pretty significantly.

Well I know that this car is a fairly hard to find model so kbb and nada aren't gonna take that into account, I understand the auto vs. manual issue, I wish it was a manual but she does't know how to drive a standard, thats why she bought it. What do they usually sell for in fair condition? I don't think shes gonna want too much for it. But it is a good car and has been good to us, it is a tank in the snow, unbelievable.

Auto, 4 Door, and 210K aren't going to help you in the E30 enthusiast market. If it's a 200K car with all the known issues that seem to fail by that mileage taken care of then milage won't matter. Plus this isn't the time of year to sell an IX. I would think a fair market price in CO would be $2500 tops including all spares. Honestly I think you would have better luck with the general public on Craigs. JMO...

Ok, thanks for your opinion, I am a professional BMW tech, so as far as it getting what it needs it has. I know that these cars are fussy which comes with the territory of a 22yr old car, it has alot of mechanical switches prone to intermittent failure which can make them a chore to work on from time to time. My only problem with the general public is that alot of the people that would potentially want to buy it don't have a clue how to work on or diag. common problems associated with these cars, thats why I came to this site because you guys are enthusiasts and know about these cars and are passionate to some degree about them and want to maintain them and help eachother out. The general public get taken to the bank when these cars need repairs and they go to a shop that charges them too much money to work on them and half the time don't even fix the main issues with the car. The only places that know how to work on them are very pricey or if affordable far and few between. As far as that $2500 price range I think that sounds fair, I will post pics tomorrow and as her how much she would like for it. Thanks again guys.

iX's seem to go for 3,500 plus on cl even with 200k+ miles and an auto. But don't expect someone on here to pay that much for an auto 4 door. So I guess it's a decision between seeing it go to a good home or making more money...

Hey 5toes, I think this might be your car.

Sherman, make a point of PMing 5toes. He is a great kid and will cherish the car, plus his parents will feel great knowing that it is the king of all snow cars.

He also has a little bit of cash saved up...

Which Aurora? Aurora, Illinois (which is a suburb of Chicago)?
