You can ask Gavin if he can do it. If not just go to any place that sells good glass and has a warrenty. When I called around they are all priced about the same.

Safelite makes the worse glass in the history of time.

        Boulder windshield
        ABRA Glass

Both in boulder, both carry real glass. Ask for PPG, Pilkington, Carlite, etc for glass.

Thanks, finally found abra and boulder glass through the BBB site (safelite must pay a ton for Google search optimization).

Boulder had the best price for Pilkington. Thanks for the assist

I got both my front and rear glass replaced by Auto Glass Express in Commerce City. Did it back in September. Total price was $313. Individual prices were $48 a piece, and then for some reason they charged me $200 for labor. They did it in under an hour. Didn't complain as the total was under my budget, but looking back now I probably should have asked on how they figured the labor!

What brand of glass did they use?

They used PGW on the front, and something that looks like FY tempered on the rear (the logo is hard to read). It's got the defroster coils on the rear, so maybe that's why they used two different types. Too bad my defroster doesn't work though!

That sounds good, they probably sold you the glass at cost and charged a ton of labor so they didn't have to pay additional taxes.

                      SONOFABITCH!

Got home today to see what boulder windshield did on the windshield for the Audi. They the had the best price on quality glass and based on Gavin's advice I went with them....

Total hack job...trim not secured, glass creaks constantly, adhesive on the paint, clusterfuck!

Hey now, I just said that because I have heard good things about them and they had a better price than I did. I'm sorry you had a bad experience there and I was really hoping that they would do quality work. If you read my glass thread i go on at least one rant about how much people fuck up windshields. If you want I can look at it and see what they didn't do right. Maybe it could save you some trouble down the line. I would also check to see if it leaks water and maybe try to get your money back. Or have them do it again and I could watch them while they do it. I'd do that free of charge mostly because I am curious about how they do things.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Also for the record. I definitely am not the cheapest when it comes to glass but I can guarantee that you will not find someone that does better work or cares as much about quality.

Update; So after the 2nd trip out the company's "more experienced" installer found a wind whistle where a gap actually allowed air into the car. So they said they'd fix that, but not to replace the glass.

I've agreed to disagree with them, and am going with a different installer and they've agreed to refund my money.

Gavin provided a bunch of great advice on what to lookout for, and how to handle it. So thanks again G!
