    I'm really really debating building my M3 to compete in the Time Attack 2wd class for Pikes Peak in the next few years.

          It is way too easy once it's all paved. I hope they change the classes though. Something like a "stock modified" to keep separate from the time attack.

            My car would never pass for a stock modified class unless they allow welded sunroofs.

              I know, I was talking about for me. I would buy something and prep it with basically a cage and sticky tires.

                You can do that and enter it in either of the time attack classes as long as you have fire suppression and required safety hardware.
