Not bashing on your price at all, I am more wondering on why E39s are worth so little.
Yes, bland generic ones (528i/530i automatics) are pretty much worthless. They aren't enthusiast cars, and to everyone else, they are expensive electrical nightmares combined with questionable mechanical reliability without a warranty or current modern safety devices and ratings with poor fuel economy. As you/we know, that isn't necessarily true; however, that is the perception and explains why they've dropped 95% of their original value in only 10 years.

Oh, y'know, money losing value as the car does, hence it's even more worthless.

It's true, the E39 528i auto is about as least enthusiast as you can get. It is just funny to note that I sold my '87 535is w/ 212k for $3k, and I had to FEND OFF buyers from that car, and pick and choose who I was going to sell it to, and my E39 with 194k, in BETTER shape, Not one person has shown serious interest in weeks, beyond a SUPER nitpicky german guy who offered me $3500. (which I am gonna take)

Again, different markets. People who buy E28s WANT them and know what they are getting into, people who buy E39s mostly want a commuting appliance.

I'm overgeneralizing, but you get my point. Take that deal and run with it!

Oh i def know why this is the case. That's why I make profits on 200k+ mileage old BMWs and lose money every time when I sell a mid/late 90s BMW.

And yes I am taking this deal and running with it. HAd to put up with 2 hours of the most ridiculously anal nitpicking in a German accent yesterday, I was about to call the guy a Nazi and tell him where to shove it, but I just thought to myself "even assholes have US currency"

It's true, I should. But this guy just handed me cash, and turns out he exports Porsches to Germany from the US for a living, because you can sell them for sooo much more over there.

So he may be able to ship euro parts back here super cheap.
