    E30 Engine Re-Build

    Where is a good place to get a 318is rebuilt? Or better off doing myself? What am i gonna be lookin at in cost.

    What is wrong with it?
    2017 Chevrolet SS, 6MT

      Buy another one for $200-300 and give me your old one.

      Oh, and paying someone to rebuild an M42 will cost WAAAAY more then your entire car is worth. Unless you have a completely mint bone stock un-molested showroom 318is.

            2,800 in labor start to finish, done right, for a M20. That is NOT including any parts. Figure just a bit less for the M42.

            Edit: That is for a stroker, but if you want to rebuild it I would assume you want to bore the cylinder a little over anyways. So the price should be very close.

                  So the problem is that the motor has over 200k miles? That's not really much of a problem. Or are you blowing oil past your rings, valve guides, or blown hg? Main/rod bearings shot? I'd have to +1 the s/m5x idea, regardless. Not much point in putting a stock motor back in unless you're saving the car for posterity.
