change engine cradle to front subframe-- engine cradle threw me for a loop. -
Also, if the M20 front subframe will work on an m42, ask Clark if he could spare the one on the parts car.

oh yeah, me too. I am still convinced that something else was going on to cause this to happen. You don't just break subframes like that. I didn't even hit anything hard. I just noticed that it suddenly got hard to steer. You would think maybe a control arm would bend first or at least the oil pan would get hit or something.Comment

Could be. What I am saying is that it was probably not just one concentrated event that caused a full failure, it must have been fatiguing over time.
Either way, time to reinforce another subframe and slap it in.
Clark, depending on what happens next weekend, I may want to buy your entire E30. I know I keep saying this, but it doesn't make it any less true. ;)Comment
