My CCA Club Racing School Experience

    It's all on the blog:

If you don't feel like reading the novel, watch the Practice Race Video You can also watch the same video with the theme song to Magnum ...

    Cliffs:

I went to the BMW Club Racing School.
It was the most fun I've had on the track, soooooo much more fun than a DE.
Test drove a GTS 2 E30 that is 3 seconds faster around HPR than I was on my qualifying lap in the M Coupe.
Learned a ton about starting, passing, and qualifying.
I think a NASA school will be my next progression.

Nice to see the view from out on the track! I was in the C group Sunday, and for my first driving event ever, I had a great time out there. Saturday I worked corners, so I got a good look at your M coupe blasting around, and wondered if it might have been yours. I guess it was! The last classroom session for the C and D groups was watching the racing school on their last session, which was pretty exciting.

So jealous, I wish I had gone.

Alex, looks like we are running similar times! What tires were you on?

Also, what are you using for video and data // data overlay on the video?

Thanks guys. Flyingvio I wish I had known you were there I would have come and found you. Did you catch a cold Saturday. The only time I was warm was in the car.

Dave, I'm running star specs again. Some R comps are in my future, but I really like the star specs, especially after driving them in the wet. I'm using Harry's Lap Timer Pro with Go Pro overlay. I have to render the video into an app called Splice to get it into my photo roll.

Almost! As the week before was quite nice weather-wise, I just glanced at the weather as I was packing to leave for the weekend. It said chance of rain on Saturday, so I figured that a few afternoon thunderstorms might roll through the area. It was raining by the time I arrived at the track, so I threw on what I thought was a rain-resistant jacket and went out to corner 5. I quickly found out that whatever waterproofing was in the jacket had long since disappeared, and jeans only keep the rain at bay for so long. I figured I'd come down with something being that the temps were in the 40s, but luckily I felt fine the next day!

You also got a picture of the tail end of my car on Sunday:

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a sagging front bumper. :(
