***SALE PENDING***
325 & S50 guys, pay attention! Project opportunity. :)
I think I will be keeping my car and instead, selling my OBDI-converted S52. I have had this motor since 2006 and have been slowly preparing it for track duty. Well, plans have changed and I have decided to sell it in order to build a motor that I have been wanting to build for almost 10 years.
Last winter, I rebuilt the motor (new Elring Klinger HG, milled head, cyls deglazed, rings, rod bearings/bolts, cleaned piston tops) in preparation for moderate track use. It now has around 10-15k and was broken in the right way. The injectors have been cleaned and flowed by RC Engineering.
In addition, the engine has a 14.5lb one-piece CroMoly flywheel, new clutch, and a new rear main seal. The VANOS unit was rebuilt with the Beisan Systems rebuild and rattle repair kits. The oil pump nut has been red Loctited as well as safety wired.
Overall, there are no leaks, it has plenty of power, and pulls cleanly to redline. There is probably a lot more that I am forgetting, but I will include all receipts and spec sheets that I have in the sale. Price is $2500 for the assembled longblock as is and I will ship at buyer's expense.
For all of you 328 guys, the motor can be converted back to OBDII fairly easily using your existing wiring harness and sensors.
The motor is still installed in my car, for the time being, so if someone wants to see/hear it run, they can. Locals are welcome to come see it in person and drive the car.
My ZF trans is also available. It has new TO bearing, clutch fork, and a steel clutch pivot pin from RallyRoad. No easier way to do an engine swap than with an attached trans with all new wear items! If you want to go this route, add $450.
All other engine/trans-related parts & mods will be up for grabs once the motor sells, or as part of a package.
