I know it is not what you are looking for, but I have an available 3.73 open diff.

Scratching my head trying to figure out a situation where you would want an open diff over an LSD.

One wheel peel is all I can come up with.

It's like poor man's traction control in the snow.... I noticed my 318is got a lot more tail-happy when I put the LSD in it, but when the tail steps out, it is a lot more predictable now.

A car with LSD will be more tail happy in the snow, but it will also go places.

A car without LSD will have a very stable rear end in the snow, because it will be stuck. ;)

Very true, one of the main reasons I got an LSD in my e28 was for snow. Yeah you need to pay a bit more attention tot he rear end, but not a big deal. Slapped some studded tires with the LSD and it is amazing in the snow. The only thing I don't have is great ground clearance.

I am wanting an open diff because i will be entering my devisions points series for drifting next season, and the stock 1 or 1.5 way lsd is very unpredictable compared to a welded diff. Plus I didnt want to tear apart my perfectly good lsd to modify it to a 2 way that locks faster. Ill PM you misterminis, a 3.73 would proly be fine, need to do some math first.

It would be much easier to find an open 410 small case from a 318 than a 391 open medium... pls don't ruin a 391 that could be converted to lsd, I'd trade my 410lsd for a 391lsd any day, straight across. I have an open 364 small case, and 323 lsd large on a shelf, but both are probably too tall for your use of your asking for a 391.

Edit: just to explain better, for diff, if you are welding it, might as well scrap a small case instead of destroying a useable medium since you will be beating the tar out of it plus welding, and a small case will weigh less, less weight in back should be good for drifting?

TRUE LEANE30, i forgot how rare the 391 are haha, i just calculated what i thought would be the best ratio. I ended up getting a 373 from MisterMiniS.
