Manual car rental in or near Denver

    hi guys,

this is a long shot, but i figure there's no harm in asking: is anyone aware of a company that rents manual transmission cars? i'm not asking for exotic rentals necessarily (i know those exist), but rather, 'everyday' cars with a manual that would be decent to drive in the mountains. something like a miata or mini cooper, even a base mustang, would fit the bill nicely, as would classic cars that can be rented (e.g., a vintage triumph or alfa).

again, this probably only exists in my dreams. any information would be appreciated.

    thanks!

Assuming from your title that you're flying into DEN and not COS, EGE or ASE, here is a list of rental car companies at DEN:

      https://flydenver.com/rentalcars

I bet if you start calling one of them will have something that fits the bill for you. Typically rental car companies don't have automatics advertised, but will have one or two at their larger locations and DEN has quite a large rental car industry.

Is this going to be a summer or a winter expedition? You'll want snow tires too if you're doing mountain driving in the winter, all seasons won't cut it.

How long will you be out here?

thanks, but if it isn't advertised, i really doubt they'll have a manual.

this is for a long weekend over the summer.

I've never seen a rental car co advertise manual trans cars in this country, but I have asked at the counter and gotten one once. It won't kill you to call. ;)

not sure if you're still looking, but i'm a valet at a hotel and i have seen both mustang 5.0s and challenger R/Ts with 6 speeds that were rental cars.

as well as an e63 AMG ($250 a day) haha
