    MA title issues?

Are there any Mass guys out there that know about title issues? I'm looking to buy an 86 325. I was going to buy it and the guy told me it had a Mass open title. I went to try and buy the car but the title wasn't an open title someone else had signed the back. What should I do? how can the car be registered in Mass? Could I just use the bill of sale? Can the title be corrected? the person selling it had it in NH so the title was never used.

Had the VIN checked and everything looks good.

If the title is only signed on the back and the buyers name was left blank your all set, just fill your name in.

The buyers name was not left blank it was signed by someone else. Can requesting a correction of the title solve this?

That sucks, the best source of information on this would be from a Mass insurance agent. You didn't say if the car is now registered in NH. I know going from RI to Mass with no title all that is needed is a bill of sale and a copy of the prior RI reg. Not sure with NH, but an insurance agent would now how to make it work.

if the vehicle was registed in nh all you need is the nh registration and a bill of sale. i did this for my trans am that i bought in nh. if the vehicle was not registed in nh then theirs really nothing u can do unless you can find the guy who signed the back and have him get a title then he can sign it over to you. if that guy never registed the car in nh then he will have to. i know someone in nh and i buy cars in ma with no title and have him register them in nh so i can get a title for the car in ma and then i resell them. theirs also another option that i actually did with my jeep wrangler. find someone with a parts e30. it doens't even hafta been the same year as long as they have a title for it. have them sell you the vin # off of the dashboard and sign the title over to you and put that vin on your car. its really easy to do on wranglers becasue you can take the front winshield frame off and just put a different vin on it without even taking the dash apart. MA is the worse place to go for this shit and everytime i go to the registry i wana kill them

Another possibility would be to find the original owner who's name is on the title and go to a notary and cross out the old buyers name and change buyers name to you, along with letter from notary.

You will need the ORIGINAL NH Registration. Not a photocopy.

I have been required to provide this for each car I sold to a MA resident.

Original/current registration, and a signed bill of sale is all you need to get it registered in MA.
