I'm curious about checking out that guys stash of bmw's, I'm about 20 minutes away from there pretty frequently so I'll save the guys number and if I get over there in the next few days I'll try to go check them out, I'll bring my camera and look over the 318 with a critical eye for ya, and if it can be driven I'll take it for a spin but it looks like it might have no plates. -

Frankin 318is
I went to see the 318is in Franklin,MA -
Let me start by saying that this is one of those collectors of German cars that reside around and you don't actually see them driving these cars - they just sit there. Oh they will tell you stories or how they raced them or admired them when they were in the service.
Mike- the owner had like 15 bmw cars on his property -some in the driveway, some in the gravel off the side and some in the high grasses. He said there were even a couple in the garages. They are closely guarded by 2 german shepherd dogs with a small warning sign mounted to a old oak tree that read "warning - attack dogs"
I got there a few minutes before Mike and after hearing the barking in the back yard and seeing the sign on the oak tree - I thought it would be better to wait in my car. It was a little like that scene from Kujo movie. I had come with my camera and I was willing to video any attact if it had happened- it didn't.
Anyway Mike arrived - told a few war stories and stories of his 8 sons who all have either a BMW or a VM microbus (did I mention there were at least 3 of those there too) Mike finally brought me over the a shiny and might I say damn good looking red e30is- the most modern car in his vast inventory! He started it up and the rumble didn't sound like any 318 I'd heard - due to the hole in the muffler bottom. But you know it was kinda cool.
There was no radio, but who needs one when the muffler sounds so sweet.
The doors opened and closed like it was fresh off the showroom floor. The engine and the entire car could use a really good detail.
Mike went on to describe in detail all of the mods - shocks and springs, cold air induction, fat wheels and tires, true dual exhaust- a kickin stereo and the list went on and on - of the mods he wanted to do but didn't!:hitler:
Except for the Bilstien shocks and K&N filter - dead stock!
Short of it - car is nice find
3k????????
I have a few more pictures of the faults I have found.
Car appears straight and true -
I have the VIN if needed.1988 325ic **sold**
