...to do a motor swap? Timeframe is probably around 2-3 weeks. I still have to source a couple parts..i.e. driveshaft and possibly trans. I should have most everything else ready to go

if youre willing to drive a bit farther, this guy is renting out his garage to r3v memebers. He's located in CT

No garage at the new joint?
I wish I had known a couple of weeks ago. I'd let you use mine, but the rally car is coming back in a couple of days.
How about a Job Lot EZ-Up?Comment

No garage, and landlords live on site. Good people, but I haven't built that rapport with them yet. If you are free, i'd appreciate your help lol. Things seem to go faster when you are around.Originally posted by FredKHowever, in your absence, I will likely sit in your seat buck naked while making racecar noises as if I were maxing your E30 out on the Mulsanne Straight while allowing the perforated vinyl to soak up my butt sweat (going 200 mph does that to you).

That's why they call me Fast Eddy the Ax Murderer.
I would love to help, seriously, but my car's coming back this weekend. Only two months to the rally and a whole car to build. I could do a night or two.
Unless you can wait till the fall. Build that rapport, ax murder the landlord, then do the build in his former kitchen, which is now your awesome shop.Comment

a night or two should hopefully be all that it takes if i have all parts necessary. But I will never feel comfortable imposing when you yourself have deadlines. I'd gladly help you with your car (now that summer classes are over) if you ever need an extra hand wrenching.Originally posted by FredKHowever, in your absence, I will likely sit in your seat buck naked while making racecar noises as if I were maxing your E30 out on the Mulsanne Straight while allowing the perforated vinyl to soak up my butt sweat (going 200 mph does that to you).

Did you find a spot yet? What about the dudes at Wicked Innovation? They have space? I know having a BMW in a Subaru shop is blasphemous, but maybe they'd look the other way. Or maybe you could duct tape your Subie bumpers over the E30s and sneak it in under the cover of darkness.Comment

If absolutely NOTHING sprouts up, you can use my garage. However, in your absence, I will likely sit in your seat buck naked while making racecar noises as if I were maxing your E30 out on the Mulsanne Straight while allowing the perforated vinyl to soak up my butt sweat (going 200 mph does that to you).
However, you must vacate within a reasonable amount of time--2 weeks.Comment

Then wring out that perforated seat, put that FredK butt sweat in a vial, sell it on e-Bay and voila! Engine swap is paid for!!!Comment

Hey fred, I'm exploring two options locally, but if anything falls through, i'd definitely appreciate the garage time. It would also save me the hassle of renting/borrowing a truck to transfer the motor :p
but I would want to line up a quick sale of the m42 so it's not taking up your space. I'll let you know.
I just got back from Canada today.Originally posted by FredKHowever, in your absence, I will likely sit in your seat buck naked while making racecar noises as if I were maxing your E30 out on the Mulsanne Straight while allowing the perforated vinyl to soak up my butt sweat (going 200 mph does that to you).
