Who has 5spd parts for me?

With my M20 in need of being replaced, it is time for me to do a 5 speed swap. I have a 260 ready to be picked up and now I need all the other parts for it. If you have it all I'd love one stop shopping, but I'm a broke ass college kid so I'm at your mercy fellow New Englanders.

Let me know what you have!

Edit: All I need now is the driveshaft. Help a brotha out.

sounded like me, broke college kid with a leaky head gasket that said "well since we gotta pull the engine we might as well do a tranny swap". just dont brake shit in the process like i did, good luck.

Ahh yeah man breaking shit is my main fear. I've had basically everything out of the bay at this point at one time or another except for the starter, radiator, and engine myself. I'll try to be super careful haha. How'd you end up doing yours? I'm sitting here without a lift at home and knowing it'll be a pain in the ass but entirely possible. The only part I'm not liking is pulling off the exhaust and replacing the driveshaft in the limited space having a car on stands can get.

Jack it up as high as the stands allow and you'll be fine. That's what I did, just sucked in an unheated garage below 30 degrees. I'm about to do the same thing again and I got a creeper this time which should turn down the suck by half.

How's this for some hilarity? I have to do it in a driveway. Not the pave driveway, no, dad doesn't want that, so I have to use the gravel driveway on the side. Oh man, the fail is going to be strong with this one.

What all do you need? I have a 91 318is parts car in northeast CT that probably has what you need. Clutch pedal is still in the car and I have the carrier/linkage for a 260 from a 325e. Don't have a 325 driveshaft though.

Send me a PM with what you need.

Well it looks like now I need the single flywheel and a driveshaft. Anybody?

Thanks for offer, but all I need at this point is the driveshaft and the flywheel at this point. It seems like I might be getting a flywheel from a local, but I'm still looking for a good driveshaft!

Awesome news Greg. As I said in PMs, if somehow your schedule can mix well with mine I can drive up and grab it.

I got my driveshaft from a junkyard. Try searching here - http://www.car-part.com/

There are a few close by for $65 and $85 and many around the $100 range.

Man a gravel driveway sounds realllly shitty. You're gonna be doing a ton of rolling/sliding/inching/shuffling on your back. And that sucked enough on smooth concrete. Where in CT are you?

Yeah I wanted to get one that is balanced and ready to go though, something that I know was "good," but at that same time there really aren't too many things that can go right with a driveshaft.

Vernon so probably not too far off from where you are depending on how truly northeast you really are.
