AutoX in RI this weekend

I know it's been a long, sleepy winter and a chilly spring, but the quickest way to melt the ice in your heart is to light up those rear tires. What's the best, safest, cheapest way to do that? How about a wide-open AutoX/test-and-tune session at Advanced Driving & Security, Inc. at Quonset Point in Rhode Island?

You heard me.

Some of you cats were still hibernating, so you missed the first one this year. The next one is June 5, from 12 to 5 p.m.

Atypical of other AutoX events, the ADSI show is less flash and more gas. Yes, you'll get timed, but no, there isn't a podium finish. But you don't have to work either.

This event is for drivers only. Wives, girlfriends, husbands, boyfriends, lovers, etc., are only allowed if they are part of your pit crew/service team. There are no spectator stands and no facilities (well, there is one Porta-Potti, but that usually tips over). Since you'll be locked into the facility for five hours, it'll be a good idea to bring some food and water and other MacGyver-esque survival needs.

Whether you are a beginning driver or you need a shakedown session for your race car, this is a great venue.

Cost per driver is $125. Advance payment will hold a spot for you, otherwise it's first-come, first-served, cash ONLY at the door the day of the event. Additionally, ADSI is running a promotion for this event only: Bring two driving friends with you and your fee drops down to $50.

Tell them Kris at Slapdash Racing sent you. Hope to see you there!

Wassup Kris!
I downloaded the tech check list, no mention of whether verts are allowed or not. Any idea? Do they really make you bleed your brakes during tech? My fluid is fresh. Doing Ruckus on saturday (4.5 mile obstacle course race thing), this on sunday would make for a pretty fun weekend :)

Hey!

I believe there are going to be some adjustments to the tech list, so I wouldn't worry too much about bleeding the brakes. Just make sure they work and don't leak all over the place.

Verts are OK. There were a couple of Miatas there last time, one had a roll bar, one did not.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

only issue I think I might have is my battery securing device is just the cables being slightly too short and pulling the battery in opposite directions. Definitely free to shake rattle and roll. Should probably do something about that anyways, even though I have an optima that's been fine for a couple years the way it is.

Ratchet strap or a good bungee. I'll bring'em if you need them. If you have the trunk mount, you should be a-ok.

Rock on.
