New guys here..and looking for plastic bumper parts.

Hi Guys, I finally picked up an e30. I got an 88 325ic from original owner. In alpine white. Bought it to do an engine swap maybe next winter. Its a auto ( BOOOO ) but that will be swapped as well. Thinking maybe ls1-t56, but I know how some purists are. To each his own I guess.

I have been on this site looking for info, and such. I am wondering why my trunk lid is raised up like a 1/2 inch on the drivers side. The other vert I looked at had the exact same problem. ??? have to look into that this winter.

Also looking for a complete set of plastic bumpers front and rear. Looks like those may be harder to find than I originaly thought. My aluminum bumpers are trashed (both front and rear are actually cracked!!) and I LOVE the look of the plastic bumpers. If anyone knows of anyone selling the stuff I would need, please let me know.

Are there any local junkyards that still have e30's there? I need a few interior odds and ends also. Looks like the seatbelt buckle got stuck in the door a few times by the previous owners, and the black plastic piece that runs all the way down the bottom of the door is wrecked.

But anyway, plastic bumper swap is my goal this winter. Along with suspension, and wheels/tires.

Anyway just thought I would say hello, and introduce myself.

    Thanks

    Jay

jack's and hollands has very limited e30 selection, there was a cabrio at Jacks for about 3 years, havent been back there for a good year or so. There are two non plastic bumpered e30s up at Brandy Brow in Plaistow NH
        1991 318is --- currently not road worthy
        1991 318i ---- 308K - retired

I have a complete plastic rear bumper with mounts in Bow, NH.
It could be had for $85, but will need new plastic trim.

          PM me if you're interested.

          Thanks,
          Chris

Thanks guys for the info. Yeah I have checked at most of the junk yards listed. And car-parts.com Found a front and rear set at euro-depot in NH. Anyone familiar with them? Not sure what the going rate is for them though. Price seemed pretty steep. :eeek:

UNHCLL, thanks for the offer, but by the time I get new trim it makes it pretty $$$.

I'll have to check Jacks for that Cabrio. Problem with car-parts is all the small interior items I need, and pretty hard to find on a web site like that. I almost need to go see the car in person.

Hello, and welcome. A lot of people have good luck with Euro Depot. However, I have never bought anything from there. What is your budget? In todays market, a set will probably range from $150 to $300. Did you post this in the parts wanted section?

FYI the rear bumper will have to be modified to fit on your car.

Thats good news about euro depot. but they r like 300 for just for the front. ouch!!

Would that 150-300 be just for the bumpers themselves? How about with the front valance? (do I need a rear one too?)

Will post in the wanted section right now. Thanks!

Thats not a problem. There does seem to be alot of info floating around the net that says the convertable is a bolt on swap. But either way I am prepared for some modifications.

                    Thanks

On a vert its a direct swap you just have to align and secure the rear brackets. make sure you get the bumper shocks and brackets. I have one for 65 but its in MD

The non-plastic bumpered verts have the same rear arches as the early model cars, and the bumpers don't fit right for the exact same reason.

The rear fits perfect. I have done it on 2 my own cars and helped another guy on his car. I think you are thinking of coupes and sedans. Both of my old verts were 1987 and 1989.
There is no modifications that need to be made besides what I said before oh and cutting tow hook so the front valance can go on.

                            Hey Jay,

Yeah just the plastic pieces. Maybe Euro Depot had the front valence included?

You need the valences if you want it to look right. You could always buy an aftermarket plastic valence too.
