So my beloved E30 is on its way to Mass, but in need of floor repair - suggestions?

It's in central Oregon being loaded into a closed carrier, ETA 2 weeks.

Unfortunately I had a bit of an accident 2 days before it was picked up. I've been working to wrap up loose ends - from the exhaust, to a bad steering coupler, to new stereo installation. On Saturday I learned the hard way never to rest the car on jackstands on the lollipops. As I went to put it back down, it slipped forward and the jack stand came through my floor :( I'm an idiot.

The car is incredibly clean and the only rust spots were at the rear of the driver's side near the subframe mount (very small, I ground out and POR'd) and what appears to be a dime-size hole in the passenger's front footwell, from a stud attaching the heat shield there. I am extremely nervous about that hole in Mass winter, to the point of wanting to buy another car so the e30 doesn't see salt. Now, I also have a nasty gouge behind the gas pedal. I want to address these things asap.

The jack stand didn't come through the carpet, but tore through the rubber insulation of the trans tunnel providing me a view of the carnage. I pulled the metal back down flat and taped the hell out of it as well as the rubber (doubt that'll last long). I'd like to get a second car, pull out the carpet in the e30 (want to dye it anyway), and have the metal repaired professionally. That's the only way I'll sleep peacefully again. I would DIY but I don't have the time or resources.

Anyone have suggestions on who to talk to about such a job, or how to not get bent over on the cost?

DIY it, Cut out the offending area and weld in a new panel into the spot. A plasma cutter makes for great cuts.

Grafton huh? Odd area to work. Find a place to live?

I would, but I really won't have the time to do it right plus I would have to buy a cutter and a welder along with any other tools. If I were to DIY at this point I feel it would be a hack job.

Yea coming from Portland it's quite a change of scenery. I work with a mfg corporation and I'm doing a 2-year rotational gig, year 2 assignment is a Wyman-Gordon plant in Grafton.

I struggled to find a place with a garage and reasonable rent that wasn't a dump, but found a place in a newly refurbished building at a good price with attached garage parking (used to be a warehouse next to an Enterprise rental place). Portland street in Worcester, I figured it's meant to be :)
