shop to give body work estimate

Got into a front end collision about a week ago...just got the damage estimate back from my insurance company, they figured $1400 and change. I definitely need a new bumper (cover and core)...the front left fender I supposed can be repaired and doesn't need to be replaced. The hood is pretty dinged up, figured I'd get a replacement of that..

anyways, can anyone recommend a good shop for an estimate, I think its more than $1400 worth of repairs (IF a shop was to do it, with paint, etc..) I want to see if I can get more.

Call Ricks autobody in Springfield, MA. Im pretty sure they are the most expensive in western mass. If all you are doing is trying to get a quote to get more out of the insurance company. My DD was hit and the insurance company wanted to give me 5k and fix it, the car was worth 7k, i called them and they gave me an estimit for 9.5k, sent it to the insurance company and they totalled it

Plenty of outrageous bodyshops out in the Boston area.

It's at 1400 right now, I think I can get at least 2K before they total it no? If they do end up totaling it how hard is it to get back on the road in MA? salvage title? I can do all the repair work myself...Just need to replace bumper, fender and hood, which I can easily do myself and for cheap, was going to use some of the money for a whole car paint job.

Yeah I was going to say. Anything with "collision" in the name in the Allston area should do you right.

After you rebuild you need to go out to Springfield (I think?) to the state police lot and wait in a bread line to get it inspected. They check all the vin's etc. give it a once over.

anything older then 15 years in mass does not need a salvage title (atleast that is what i was told). my wifes 95 4runner was totalled and we recevied an insurance check, i used 1/4 of it to rebuild it, i never had to go therw retitling it to put it back on the road
