Boston members, recommend a place to stay this sat the 30th?

Taking a bus up to Boston this weekend to pick up an E30 with my buddy who's visiting from Ireland. First time in the US for him and i've never been to Boston, so we're looking to spend saturday night and go out on the town.

So......can you either recommend a decent place to stay where theres safe parking

    or

Do you have a place for us to crash?

Regardless if you can help with either, maybe we can get a few cars together for a meet n greet of some sort.

I'm not super familiar with Boston, as I sort of don't particularly enjoy that side of the Charles River. But, being that your friend is from Ireland, I s'pose Boston proper would be a nice place to visit for him. I think if you use Priceline you can usually get an ok hotel for like $120 or so a night. I won't be around this weekend otherwise I'd offer up my hard wooden floor for you to crash on haha.

The tourist stuff is Duck Tour, Bunker Hill Monument, Paul Revere Trail, Old Ironsides, Fenway maybe the the TD Bank Garden. Fanueil Hall is always busy, you could grab dinner on Hanover Street (The North End/Little Italy) then walk over the bars. The problem with this weekend with the Boston bar scene is a lot of the students that live in Boston might go home for the holiday weekend.

I'm supposed to be heading to RI but if I'm around I'll meet up.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking to do the most touristy stuff in the shortest amount of time, I'd suggest the Park Plaza hotel for a great location. Nearly everything is within a 1.5 mile walk, with other stuff along the way. Green Line, Orange Line, and Red Line are all within a 10 minute walk. Hotel is quite nice and $139/night on Priceline right now, but parking isn't included. Most garage parking is $30/day, including the nearby one under the Boston Common.

Many of the downtown bars and nightclubs are near it as well.

I agree with others: bars during holiday weekends are hit or miss due to students evacuating.

            Cool, thanks.

Yeah, i hear you on the Easter weekend thing. It is what it is though. Would be a shame to be there and not go out and he's been looking forward to visiting anyways. So, we'll see how it goes.

Was planning on a hotel unless someone here can offer a place. Either way is fine with me. More worried about the parking.

Maybe a hotel outside of town? And train it in? (What public transportation is best there?)

Decided to take an earlier bus tomorrow night, getting us in with enough time to go out. So, will see the town on Saturday and head back in the evening.

Shoot me a PM if anyone is down to meet for breakfast/lunch.
