UConn car show 4/14/13

Hey guys,

Is anyone else going to the UConn car show this Sunday? I'll be there in my E30, probably won't be in the show but I'll park in with the spectators. Here's the details for anyone who needs 'em: http://www.uconncarclub.com/2013-show/

Last year was outrageous it's on my list of shows not to attend. 400 cars attend for a lot that holds 75? max.

Might want to mention you'll end up parking out by the horse stalls on street.


Never mind I see the location has been moved but that lot from previous years did not hold 600 cars now way besides there were student's still parked in the thing.

I edited my post to note that. We had gone last year and were disappointed. Hope this year proves us wrong.

This year's show was pretty darn good! Pretty organized, police detail so no bull$#!t, lot of crappy cars, but a lot of nice cars, enough to make it worth it. Loved the two white E30 M3's with S5x swaps! I'll post pics later today if I get a chance.

I was in Germany so I would not have made it anyway. Leaving to go back tomorrow already.

There were a few nice cars, but most looked blah. There was one E30 that was clean, and very stock looking that I noticed pulling in, it had stock ride height, bottle caps, and I was like this guy needs something extra other than the stock look. Then when I found the car later it had a REALLY nice turbo set up, (M20 with individual coil packs) pretty clean under the hood too! The first thing that came to mind was this is one ass rippin sleeper!!

As for the white M3's, yep very, very nice! Super clean! One had an S54 swap "M3NTAL" euro plate the other was an S50 turbo swap..... I saw way tooooo many "hella flush" slammed BMW's to last me a life time, I had to make sure I wasn't looking at a Volkswagen!

Then there was the Nissan GTR's, never saw so many in one place!

All in all plenty of "show car" parking but too bad not very many "show cars" to look at.

It was a big disappointment for my first time going, which makes it my last time as well.

I was at last year's show, what a mess that was. Gates had to close at 10am cause the lot had overflowed. W-Lot capacity is 700 cars. Only so much you can do when you get a record turnout like that. They even asked all the off road guys to park in the grass to open up spots. In years past attendance hovered around 500 cars, and the last thing the club wanted to do was move the show off campus to East Hartford, especially with the uconn sorority houses right next to the lot 8-).

that was me in the blue e30 with the turbo m20. Any pictures of it? I though the show was pretty good. There was alot of cars, alot of variety.

Agreed last year was a shit storm there was well over 700 cars there but they were on streets and scattered everywhere but in the show area.
