tranny lift

Hey guys! So it turns out my TOB might have exploded but i need to check out my tranny to see if thats the reason or if its something else. would anyone happen to know of a place with a lift that i could borrow or would someone be able to help me with this, as I'm a bit of a noob? I'm located in boston.

Or would this be something that I need to take to a mechanic for? If so, any recommendations and estimate costs?

While e30 manual tranny's are easy as far as tranny jobs go, since you had to ask then no you can't do this yourself and no stranger is going to do it for you out of the kindness of their heart. Basically an all day job complete with the fighting of rusty exhaust nuts and dropping 100 lb chunk of aluminum on your chest. A tranny specific jack is not necessary, and is the least of your problems sadly.
