Mass Title without Registering

Hey all,

I'm a proud new owner of a 1991 318is I bought and trailered from CT over the weekend.

Can I transfer the title without registering? It's currently not running and it'll probably take me a few weekends of repair to get it to pass inspection. I read that if I register, I need to have it inspected within 7 days.

Suggestions?

If you bought the car yes transfer the title. You are not required to plate it unless it's being registered.

yeah i did the same thing, you can transfer the title no problem. Just be ready to pay tax on the sales price or the kelly blue book price, they use whichever one is higher so be prepared for that.

You should be good, even if you get plates the week rule is really just saying "after a week if you get pulled you are gonna get written up". No shop is going to give a shit if it's been over a week
