    Sept. 13th : Vernon CT : 12:00 noon

My other car is a Volvo, and I am meeting some Volvo guys at Rein's Deli in Vernon CT...its right on Hartford Turnpike...on September 13th at noon. I love the food at Rain's and anyone who has been there will say the same (unless you are vegan).

I will be driving my E30 up to Vernon...it will be its 'long' first trip as I have never driven it for more than 1-1.5 hours without stopping and a few of the Volvo guys are also enthusiasts of cars in general and appreciate other cars. Everyone seemed to have gotten a kick out of my E30 when I posted up on the Volvo forum, and I havent seen those guys in a while so it was time to get together.

This meet is about nice people, good food, and shooting the shit in the parking lot...maybe a few pictures here and there. No racing around, burnouts, donuts, etc, etc. All of the cars that usually show up are always clean, tastefully done, generally 'low key' and normally with big turbos. It is a nice mid-day event and the drive up is not too bad, nor is the drive back

Just throwing this out there in case anyone is interested in meeting some people, seeing other cars, good food, etc, etc. I live in the middle of Long Island and will be leaving at around 9:00am as it usually takes me 2-1/2 to 3 hours to get up there. If anyone in the NY area is willing to meet and ride together, that would be cool by me.

Any questions just shoot me a PM.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

Hey, who is going to this meet? Is this a regular thing or a impromptu get together? Both are cool by me, just wondering what the organization is like.

It is not a regularly schedules meet, but when I was only on the volvo site (volvospeed) we got together there every 4 to 6 weeks. It would usually be organised between myself and 2 other 'v.s.' Members. We would post it up and people would come to hang out. The three or four of us just wanted to get together for some good food and talk. We had as many as 15 volvos (which is pretty good as not too many people are into messing with volvos.

The general schedule is get there at 11am or so. Introductions, regular talk and looking at cars. Around 12-1230 we all go inside to sit for lunch.

After lunch its more talking and pictures. Handshakes, and home we go. Its a pretty mellow group with lowered volvos and big turbos. No immaturity (burnouts, sound off's) as we are in a public parking lot.

I have not met up with anyone Volvo since I got the BMW, so this will be an opportunity for friends to see what I have been working on, and it would be nice to see some other. BMWs there too.
