Looking for an inexpensive first E30 for a teenager

    Hey NE guys,

I have a friend who lives outside Boston. He has a teenager who's about to start driving and he'd like to buy an E30. However, he doesn't really know what he's looking at and doesn't know much about cars. I'm on the opposite coast but would like to help him however I can, so if you know of a reasonable car for sale, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Tim

Not to hijack or anything, but I'm looking for a cheap 5 speed, if anyone sees this thread. Of course, the OP would have dibs. :)

Probably an auto would be better. Have any pics of said vehicle? What was done for $1k?

No problem. He's looking for an inexpensive car, probably an auto, so I don't think your search conflicts.

why can't that kid get a VW or something JDM. We all know soon there won't be enough of them to go around, allowing teens to have them as first cars would be disastrous... (from personal experience )

After the repairs and inevitable modifications, I don't believe there is such a thing as an inexpensive e30...

Tim, I know of an Auto Tranny'd IX Sedan that would probably go for $700... Typical NE rust spots (nothing that won't pass inspection)... NEW T-Case 68k ago installed at Dealer. Interior is MINT.

With $1500 in work it would be a VERY reliable and good car. Needs some suspension/brake stuff sorted.

                        Alpine/Tan.

why are you fixing the recall yourself? the dealer did it for free when brought my previous car.

sorry for the OT. good luck on your search.
