Hell of a deal, I talked with the owner and it seems to be a clean swap. The interior is shot, but you could put the motor in your early model and part the rest of the car and come out way ahead:

This car has been on and off CL for over a year, i've talked to him before. "there was wiring problems between the two harnesses" no speedo, tach, heat, i think it pretty much came down to the car is fast fun and cheap but not that nice.

oooohh I did not realize this. He said in the email that everything was in pretty good shape, but I didn't ask for any details. No instruments or heat is a big thing to not mention, but I should have guessed something was up when he only wants $2500 for it.

I am the R3V PNW e30 swap sheriff.
Therefore I have the right to "bust chops" on halfass m30-FAIL- swaps. now don't get me wrong m30 are some peoples cup-o-tea and can be done "nicely." *cough* alpina 25 years ago *cough* but lets be honest they suck when compared to a e30s52 swap. This is a case of is the worst of both worlds a sh*t motor, and the workmanship of a 17 year old who "tried" to swap in during his high school spring brake.
oh BTW when I got flamed for posting one of my swap up for sale its tack and speedo both worked
