Anyone near Seattle have a Bilstein strut collar tool I can buy or borrow?

I finally have all of the parts in for my suspension overhaul and hoping to get the front end done this weekend. I've gone with Bilstein Sports with H&R Sports.

After looking at the Bilstein Sports last night I realized how valuable/useful that special tool from Bilstein would be for tightening the collar. Plus I don't really like the thoughts of taking channel locks or a pipe wrench to this collar and gouging it up.

Does anyone local have this tool to fit Bilstein Sports that I can either buy or borrow for the next week or so (Just in case I can't get it all done this weekend)?

If no tool...what would you wrap around the collar before going at it with a pipe wrench?

    Thanks!

Channellock is all you need, bud.

Just use a rag or something to keep it from getting nicked up? With channel locks there is no way to torque it so do you just go as tight as you can get it and call things good?

i don't even use a rag, and I do tighten as far as it goes, the way collar nut sits in the strut, you know exactly where to stop... Unless you got some kind of superhuman strength.

Or you can use a monkey wrench.

For bilsteins it has to be left handed however, just ask at your local hardware store. They should carry it.

            Billy Wrench???

I used a Pipe wrench cause it has a longer handle for leverage and larger jaws for gripping and a bench vice. Do not forget to put oil/grease in be for inserting strut this will keep it from rusting and dampening inside. For the next time it mite be removed.
            good luck.
