    Need Help Welding Rust Holes

    Hello Portland,

I just moved here and I know nobody. I'm looking at a 2002, and before I buy I was curious if anyone would be able to help me out with welding a couple rust holes. I'm mechanically inclined, but just haven't found the time to learn to weld yet. I would be happy to pay with beer & bacon donuts.

On a related note - can anyone recommend a good night class where I could learn to weld? Or just find a cheap MIG and start playing with it? How did you learn?

      That is hilarious!!

Just get you a used flux core (<$100) welder. It doesn't require gas so it should be easy to carry around. Get a steel pipe or plate and have at it.

Also there are tons of videos on youtube that teaches you how to weld.

      Justin

gald you find it funny ( mean that in a good way)
many do, she has welded ( made) custom motor mounts, frame repairs, custom mounts for trannys and diffs into various cars, and of course minor repairs, so why should I learn, and it keeps us both invoved in my project cars

she is not good at custom aluminum, not enough practice

        not bad for a 5'3 120 pounder

another reason I keep her around :)

Voodoo donuts - maple & bacon

I bet you all thought it was some sick fetish. No rusty trombones here, thank you very much.
