    Rocker Arm Replacement

How much will it cost in labor to get a rocker arm replaced at a shop for my 89' 325i?

                    you could try...

Mike O'Hara Service Inc: Exclusively BMW
5020 NE Cully Blvd, Portland, OR 97218-3010
                    (503) 287-0739

I haven't taken much to him, but I think his prices should be reasonable. He should be still in business.

I had zero experience working on cars when I bought my e30, now I'm comfortable working on pretty much any part of the car. If you have some tools and are at all mechanically inclined you'll pick it up fast.

Buy a Bentley, do your research on R3v, and get to work (carefully). You'll save a shitload of money doing your own work. Not worth $1200 to fix one rocker arm.

You could do a LOT to the head of an m20 for $1200. One of those things is most definitely not replace ONE rocker arm.

What you can do is unbolt the engine, undo the tranny from the drive shaft, get an engine hoist, pick it up a bit out of the car, angle it and pull the rocker shaft out to put a new rocker arm on. If that's too in depth for you, you can buy a complete used head for around $150-$200 and throw it on.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

You do NOT have to pull the head or the motor to get the rocker shafts out.

I'd say matt and josh could come down and we could do it in a weekend. I have tools and space at my house.
