I'm on 205-S, daytime....I'm going 60 (in a marked 65 zone) in the middle lane. Cop passes me on the left, gets about 2 car lengths ahead of me, checks up, forces the cars behind him to get on their brakes, pulls in behind me and pulls me over for no front plate.

Now...I don't have a front plate because it came like that when I bought it. He himmed and hawd then let me go with a wag of his disciplinary finger...I thought his methods were a little odd....excessive?

Do I need to display a front plate? Do I really need to go to the dmv and get one made? I guess I could always play it off like "no plate? what? omg the guys at the shop must have forgot to re-install it!"

yeah, you really don't think the cop hasn't already heard all of those bad excuses?

yes, you're required to have a plate. you might be able to get away without one, but you're risking being pulled over more often.
