    I r3v'd my oil pan...

Leaving the gas station tonight I drove over a set of raised manhole covers for their tanks. Came down off of one and planted the left front corner of my oil pan squarely on the next! Needless to say the oil pan lost that fight. Drove down the street to work and pulled the pan to find the crack too big to patch.

Anyone around Tacoma have a lower pan for an m42 lying around?

pff, it's not cold on that side of the mountains. It's about 2F here right now, says it "feels like -6F". Bitter cold.

Well if you can't find one used, RMEuropean.com had pretty good prices on them when I bought one about a year ago.

Yeah, luckily I was a few blocks from a somewhat warm shop to work in. What really sucks is that I have to drive the 02 with 34 y/o door seals, a few rust holes in the floor, and a non-working heater fan...... It'll be like living in Spokane again!

Ha! My first thought after seeing the crack was "I should have grabbed one of those at the picnic".

Me too, and I have been to this station a bunch of times. Normally I am really careful to drive around them. Just wasn't paying close enough attention this time.

Thanks guys, but I already ordered one that will be here in the morning. Not a minute too soon because driving the icebox in this weather is not pleasant.
